  CLEANROOM
We can provide a cleanroom facility for garments that are used in industries in the high care sector (e.g. food production, health care, medical, pharmaceutical and electronics engineering).
The cleanroom provides an enclosed, hygienically clean area that is fed with filtered air, where garments can be cleaned and processed in a controlled environment away from other garments, which may potentially introduce contaminants.

The cleanroom is designed to process soiled garments with two objectives:

Disinfect the garment
Remove the foreign body contamination
The cleanroom is operated so that garments will also be protected from subsequent recontamination, up to the time they are required to be used again by the customer.

  How does it work?
The sole purpose of the cleanroom is to process the garments for companies who require a hygienic service. No other workwear enters the cleanroom at any time, thus reducing the chances of contamination.
From the moment dirty garments arrive in the laundry they are separated from other garments that may cause contamination. The garments are received and sorted ready for washing, they are stored in specially marked closed trucks away from other garments, to prevent any contaminants being transferred to or from the workwear.
The garments are then loaded into a washing machine from the soiled area, are washed and then unloaded directly into the cleanroom where the operators work in cleanroom workwear. The garments are then loaded into a tumble drier. When dry, the garments are inspected for holes or tears, pressed, folded and placed in clean bags. The bagged items are then stored in the cleanroom until they are ready to dispatch back to the customer.
In order to ensure that the garments are sterile they are washed at 87degrees centigrade, which is a proven disinfectant.
We can source a full range of workwear that your employees will need and the cleanroom is designed to be able to process a wide range of garments.

How do we ensure it works?
We have produce a hazard analysis programme using Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) which is a well used management based technique to identify and control risks to the contamination of garments, thus we can assure customers that workwear is safe. The scheme allows us to identify areas where contamination may occur and how to control them. This has provided us with a working document that is constantly updated and worked with to ensure contamination is eliminated. The scheme is recognised by the EU and provides customers with quality assurance and enables the cleanroom manager to run the facility to the highest standard.
